Alcatel-Lucent expands its OmniAccess Stellar portfolio with the AP1501: an entry-level access point that makes Wi-Fi 7 performance affordable for offices, retail and smaller campuses. BusinessCom supplies the new model as distributor across the Benelux, Nordics and Baltics regions.
Strong performance at a lower cost
The OmniAccess Stellar AP1501 is equipped with three radios and supports a combined data rate of up to 9.328 Gbps, spread across 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz. The access point features a 2.5 Gbps Multigigabit Ethernet port, suited to environments with mid-density client loads but intensive bandwidth needs. Key 802.11be features such as Multi-Link Operation (MLO), OFDMA, DL and UL MU-MIMO, and 4096-QAM modulation deliver greater efficiency and reliability in modern workplace environments.
Enterprise-grade security and management
With WPA3 support, including the 192-bit security suite, and Wi-Fi Enhanced Open (OWE), the AP1501 offers strong security for both business networks and open public environments. The access point supports application-aware monitoring and enforcement (Layer 7), enabling IT administrators to identify traffic and apply policies, even on encrypted traffic.
Management is available through three deployment modes within a single software version: via the cloud-based OmniVista Cirrus, on-premises via OmniVista, or via Wi-Fi Express for smaller deployments with web-based cluster management for up to 255 access points.
Flexible deployment and long service life
The AP1501 is suitable for wall or ceiling mounting (mounting kit ordered separately) and is powered via PoE 802.3at or a direct DC power source. The access point has an MTBF of over 1 million hours and comes with a Hardware Limited Lifetime Warranty.
The product is available as OAW-AP1501-RW (global, excluding US and Japan) and OAW-AP1501-US (specific to the US market). Partners can contact BusinessCom for more information and orders.
