Mitel is expanding its 6900 series with new Open SIP (OS) variants, specially designed for use on non-Mitel communication platforms. The new devices will have unique item codes, come with SIP firmware as standard and are packaged with an Ethernet cable, a clear step towards better meeting the needs of the UCaaS market.
The OS devices are intended exclusively for third-party platforms. The firmware actively blocks the use of these devices within Mitel’s own UC solutions. Mitel therefore emphasises that these models may only be sold as OS solutions.
These are OS variants of the following 6900 models:
The 6907 will follow as soon as it becomes available.
The new parts will be included in the new 5P MPG, with an adjusted discount structure to increase competitiveness in the channel. The MLP remains the same as that of the generic 6900 devices.
All other 6900 models, accessories and spare parts will remain available through the existing 3P MPG and current discount structures.
