AI Companion 3.0 takes Zoom to a new level. The platform evolves from a collaboration tool into a fully-fledged ‘system of action’ – with agents, automated workflows and AI-first productivity tools that genuinely move work forward.
Zoom has announced a major update to AI Companion, the AI assistant deeply integrated into the Zoom platform. Version 3.0 is no longer focused solely on supporting conversations, but on actually executing work, automatically, context-aware and personalised.
Agents and workflows
Starting April 2026, users will be able to build custom agents and workflows via an intuitive builder with ready-made templates for teams such as Sales, Marketing and IT. These agents can independently carry out tasks, such as updating CRM systems or generating reports. After a meeting, AI Companion can automatically handle follow-up tasks, such as sending a thank-you email or entering notes into Salesforce.
Broader context, better insights
AI Companion 3.0 now also pulls context from Zoom Phone, Zoom Chat, Zoom Revenue Accelerator and third-party applications such as ServiceNow, Box and Google Drive. Via a dedicated tab in the Zoom Workplace app, available on both desktop and mobile, users have a single central access point for insights, workflows and actions. The system also learns from user behaviour and adapts based on role, preferences and feedback.
AI-first productivity tools
Zoom is also introducing three new canvases: AI Docs, AI Sheets and AI Slides. These allow teams to convert meeting insights directly into structured documents, spreadsheets or presentations, without switching platforms.
